Tyler is now 3 weeks old and starting to smile at us!

family and friends come to meet and visit with Tyler

Tyler's uncle Jeremy came up from Atlanta to visit us and he's thrilled to be an uncle. Jeremy got a chance to feed Tyler, but we couldn't persuade him to help us change his diaper. Unfortunately for him, he was an innocent bystander and Tyler tagged him with some pee while Tyler was being changed. It was a very funny moment. Jeremy also experienced what early morning diaper duty is all about - Tyler was screaming to be changed early one morning and woke up his uncle. Celestie's goddaughter Kaitlyn and her parents Kim and Jason also came to visit with us and Tyler. They moved across the country from Washington state and now reside in the northern VA area. Michelle, Greg and Madison came up to visit us from Raleigh, NC this past weekend. We spent the day catching up and admiring our new additions. Their daughter is now 6 months old.

Tyler has his first doctor's appointment on December 14th

Tyler is also two weeks old on this date. The doctor gives him a clean bill of health and we set another date for Tyler to visit the pediatrician in six weeks. This will be his two month appointment. He will also be receiving his first set of shots on that day.

On December 11th, Tyler gets his first real bath in the tub

Up until now, we were giving Tyler a bath with a washcloth, also called a spongebath. We decided that he could use a real bath after all of those stinky diapers that we've been changing. As you can see he's not yet a big fan of water.

Well it's been a few days since posting, but we have some more pictures to share with everyone. Tyler is now 9 days old! He's eating like a little pig, but still cute as can be. We're finally getting adjusted to his waking up in the middle of the night to feed. At 4am we swap diaper changing duties as we make our way into the nursery like a couple of walking zombies. :) The first few photos were taken of Tyler as he was being groomed by Mommy last week. Tyler had been scratching his face and we were concerned, so we had to cut and file his fingernails. Surprisingly, he didn't fuss at all. BIG YAWN!!! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Here's a few photos of Tyler doing what he does best right now - being cute and handsome! That's it for now. Next week, Tyler visits the pediatrician for his first check-up. We expect the Dr. to give him a clean bill of health :)

Mom and Tyler come home today...

It's a great feeling to have Celestie and Tyler at home now. Celestie was discharged from the hospital this afternoon shortly after 2pm. Tyler is feeding well and almost finished two whole ounces of formula tonight. It's funny because we find that we have to wake him up real good before he'll want the bottle. Speaking of food, our friends brought us over a delicious chicken casserole! I'm already looking forward to leftovers tomorrow. We're getting ready to hit the sack. Tyler will sleep in a bassinet in our room. We have no idea what to expect over the next 8 hours - how many times will we wake up during the night? Will he cry and keep us up? We'll find out sooner or later, huh? Check out our "Baby Burrito" ;-) I'll try to post up some photos on a daily basis. No promises, but I'll try my best. Celestie says it's not necessary, but I think most of you will look forward to new pictures everyday.
