Welcome Home Joshua!!!

Image
Here are a few recent pictures that were taken of Joshua this week. I can’t believe that he will already be a week old tomorrow. He had his first visit with the family pediatrician this afternoon and another visit is scheduled in two weeks. He’s one healthy boy.

Welcoming Joshua William

Image
Celestie had a scheduled C-section and delivered Joshua William March at 7:58 a.m. on Friday, August 7th. Joshua weighed in at 7lbs 5oz. and was 19 ¾ inches long. Joshua was born with a small cleft lip. We discovered this at Celestie’s 20 week ultrasound. We decided to keep the news to ourselves until we felt more comfortable sharing it with family. Joshua is in good health as expected. He’ll have surgery to fix his lip in approximately three months. Celestie did a great job delivering Joshua. I participated in part of the delivery and was very nervous about what was taking place. I can’t even imagine the emotions she was going through during all that. Celestie and Joshua spent the next three days in the hospital for routine checkups and necessary monitoring for each of them. It was a long three days for all of us, but nevertheless, myself and the kids enjoyed getting up every day to visit at the hospital. On Monday morning, Celestie and Joshua were discharged from the hospital. Tyler ...

Rocky the Raccoon

Image
We have had some interesting run-ins with the wildlife in our neighborhood lately. Let us tell you about a couple of pesky raccoons that commandeered our trash can, as well as our next door neighbor’s can. First off, Celestie spotted a rather large raccoon in the middle of the day as she was leaving to run some errands with the kids. She watched it pop its head in and out a few times and then it finally took off running up a tree. The second encounter was about a week later and pretty funny from my perspective. Celestie had just walked out to the backyard to tend to the garden and some of the flowers. Again, it’s late afternoon, complete daylight and very unusual to see a raccoon in our neighborhood. I just happened to be in the kitchen and out the window saw her walking a bag of trash over to the can. No big deal, right? Well, not 10 seconds later, I see her running the opposite direction back towards the back deck. She comes in quickly and said, “I think something is in our trash can...

Kids Painting

The kids did something different on this particular morning. Celestie decided to let them paint outside on the porch in their PJs! Of course, they both had a lot of fun and created some interesting art. This is surely something we should try again in the near future.

Samantha's 2nd Birthday

Image
Samantha turned two on July 6th and celebrated her birthday with a handful of homemade Elmo cupcakes courtesy of Mom. If you haven’t talked to Samantha recently, here vocabulary has increased tenfold over the last six months and she can gab with the best of them.

Fourth of July

Image
For the past couple of years we've gone to Dogwood Dell to listen to music and view the fireworks show. This year we decided at the very last minute to stay close to home and pass the time with Tyler and Samantha and a small firework show of our own. Here are some photos of the kids showing off their patriotic side with some sparklers.
