We started our 4th of July celebration at the Evergreen pool. Tyler went for a swim with his dad. He still doesn't care too much for the cold water. We all had a great time. After that, we headed over to Dogwood Dell near downtown Richmond. Dogwood Dell is a 2,400 seat amphitheatre owned and operated by the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities and located in Byrd Park. We watched and listen to the Richmond Concert Band. Our fireworks started early to avoid a thunderstorm that came later that night. This was one of the best firework shows that we have ever seen. The Richmond Concert Band played with the fireworks, real cannons, and a coordinated steeple-bell choir. Equally as inspired, the Richmond Concert Band also uses real cannons provided by the 2nd Battalion, 111th Field Artillery of the Virginia Army National Guard.
