Fishing Trip & Manicure

Image
I am off this week so we’ve been doing a lot of fun things with the kids. On Wednesday, we had “Fishing w/ Tyler” on the board. I bought Tyler a nice push button rod and we headed over to Swift Creek where we found a nice area with a boat launch and small pier to walk out on. We caught fish left and right; I hooked them and Tyler reeled them in. Fresh night crawlers were our secret weapon. At one point, Tyler declined the action as he was apparently too tired from reeling in anymore fish. In any case, I think I got him hooked. Pardon the pun :) While Tyler and Kris were fishing, Celestie was at home spending quality time with Samantha. Samantha was given a manicure and pedicure by mom and now she looks beautiful as ever. A French manicure! Love the fishing sunglasses. Love your nails.

Day trip to the beach...

On Tuesday we hit the beach and a few sights in Virginia Beach. Our first stop was to the VA Aquarium and Science center. We spent a couple hours here walking around and looking at the various exhibits. Probably the most exciting was watching the sharks and stingrays in one area and then the river otters in another spot. There is an IMAX theater onsite but we skipped that for another future visit. All in all it was a nice place, but we’d recommend to anyone wanting to go to in the near future, wait for the renovations to finish first. We took a nice leisurely drive down Atlantic Blvd and Celestie and I were pleasantly surprised to see the area much cleaner and revived since our last real visit almost eight years ago. We found a place to park and crossed the street to head on into the beach area. A nice breeze was blowin...

A recap of the past few months...

Sorry we haven’t posted since April. We’ve all been pretty busy getting ready for baby #3. Over the past few months we went out on our usual outings to include an annual trip to pick strawberries at the local berry farm and something new as we went mullet watching at a race in Petersburg. We also completed some home improvement projects to include newly installed kitchen countertops, painting the kitchen, and new carpet throughout the entire house. We moved Tyler and Samantha into the same bedroom and after many weeks we are still waiting for their new bedroom furniture to come in. The nursery is almost completed. If you weren’t aware, Celestie is scheduled to deliver the baby via caesarean on the morning of August 7th. Here are a ton of pictures from the past few months. Enjoy! Birthday party... Tyler went to a classmate’s pre-school birthday party. It was Tyler’s first birthday party and he had a blast. It was a pirate themed party and they hired a clown to come and do some neat tric...
